Social Studies Prior to 2013-2014 school year, the ePortfolio component was with Economics, it is moving to American Government starting 2013-2014. Social studies is making a change for 2013-2014 and math and science may have some changes ahead as well. Economics Upon completion of the job shadow, students will write a Thank you letter to their mentor. The letter will be a business letter. The letter is to be saved in a student file. Grading Rubric is called “SSThankyouletterrubric”.

Students taking Marketing 1 and a combination of two Academy of Finance classes meeting the Econ credit. Attached is a visual that we provide to guidance and our teachers that shows which courses meet which of the ICT and Economics credits.
Government Student will be writing a letter to a public official (they will need to figure out/choose the correct official to write to about this issue) where the student will discuss the issue of concern and will come up with a proposal of how to improve the problem. This letter will replace the thank you letter that the Economics classes previous completed to satisfy the Social Studies component. This letter is also a component of the first competency for the course. The assignment will be titled as follows: FirstnameLastnameletter.doc NO Rubric at this time. Math According to Lee Dailing, the math e-Portfolio is a good project, but does not fit the curriculum. Math is looking at creating a new e-Portfolio project for all Algebra 1 students. There are 6 related documents – directions, samples, etc. They are Creating Homework Handout, Student Instructions, Homework, Teacher Instructions, Living Expenses Excel Sheet, Managing Hand-in box.
Science According to Deb O’Connor, maybe a modification by the biology PLC this year (2012-2013) in the near future. Students do a PowerPoint presentation. The project is a genetics project and it is attached called 3rd quarter genetics project ePortfolio. Grading Rubric is called “SciPowerPoint”.
PE Not a state requirement but PE has chosen (Fall 2012) to continue PE ePortfolio component teachers like this activity. The decision was to keep it as a Pinkerton requirement in the future. Activity is a fitness gram, activity has a rubric, also included is an ePortfolio credit recovery activity. The documents are called eport recovery assignment, FitnessGram Entry, FitnessGram off campus and eport rubric.
e-Portfolio Statement to Students - Statement to share with students who are in classes that have an e-Portfolio component as part of the course: Economics/Government, Biology, PE, Math and English All students must successfully pass a computer technology course in order to graduate. In addition, the State requires that all NH schools provide the opportunity for students to store and save electronic documents from their core subjects to an e-Portfolio. Students are encouraged to complete the e-portfolio as it is an excellent way for students to demonstrate their ability to use technology effectively as a communication tool in real life. The e-portfolio can also be used as part of the college application process and for seeking employment. Students who successfully complete all pieces of the e-portfolio in the areas of Economics, Biology, PE, Math and English will receive a ¼ credit on their transcript at the start of their senior year.
